Robert Valuck is an Associate Professor in the Department of Clinical Pharmacy at the University of Colorado School of Pharmacy, and Director of the School’s Program in Pharmaceutical Outcomes Research. He teaches in the Pharm.D. and Ph.D. programs at CU, as well as conducting Phase IV (post-marketing) outcomes research studies, primarily in the area of psychiatric disorders and medications.
During his training and academic work, Dr. Valuck has developed an interest in the use of information technologies to enhance the practice and research capabilities of pharmacists, including the use of PDAs and computer databases.
He earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Pharmacy at the University of Colorado in 1987, and his Master’s and Ph.D. degrees in Pharmacy at the University of Illinois at Chicago in 1992 and 1994.

Goals and Objectives
Learning Objectives: At the conclusion of this program, participants should be able to:
- Discuss current hardware and software applications available for Personal Device Assistants (PDA's), with particular emphasis on newer wireless capabilities.
- Describe medical content and clinical applications now available to health care practitioners via hand held devices and wireless networks.
- Compare and contrast the usefulness of various drug information databases accessible via hand held devices.
- Follow up to obtain further information about wireless clinical applications now available to health care practitioners.
Target Audience
This program is appropriate for pharmacists and pharmacy technicians.
